One of the best pieces of working for myself is being able to do work with Rescue Animals. I started volunteering when I was 16 years old and still love every minute of volunteer work that I do.
Last year, I was voted president of an organization called the Pet Alliance of Central Texas (PACT), a pre-existing organization that was working within the Williamson County, TX community to provide support and guidance to our area's 5 Animal Shelters. Unfortunately, PACT was not really going anywhere, despite our monthly organization meetings, so I worked with our team and we decided to disband PACT and create what is now called No Kill Wilco.
No Kill Wilco is a very small organization. In addition to working to promote and support our area Animal Shelters, No Kill Wilco has started hosting a monthly community adoption drive called 'Hogs and Hounds,' hosted by the amazing Central Texas Harley Davidson.
During the last 6 months, this small adoption event has grown from 3 rescue organizations attending the first event to now over 10 organizations coming together for the greater good of the Williamson County community! We have adopted out nearly 30 pets (which averages out to approximately 1 adoption per hour if you want to do the math!).
I am so honored to work with such amazing Rescue Organizations in the Central Texas area! This event is full of fun, extremely relaxed and focused solely on the animals to promote adoptions in our community to continue our amazing life-saving results in the area!
